MR387-MR388 Series FO E-STOP Sensors and Controllers

The Micronor FO E-Stop System can be deployed where EMI immunity is required, for installation in hazardous areas, as well as where long-distance E-Stop links are required.

  • E-Stop Switches available for either single mode or multimode fiber applications
  • Distances can be short or long, to 18 km Multiple E-Stops can be daisy chained
  • Multiple Controllers can be employed to extend signaling to different locations
  • Controllers can also be used as a FO solution to extend reach of EM E-Stops

For OM3 50/125 link applications, use the OM1 62.5/125 E-Stop (MR387 and MR388) and add 1dB for fiber/launch mismatch to your optical loss margin calculations.

Distance versus System Loss Budget

Fiber type, link lengths, # of E-Stops, and # of interconnections cannot exceed optical loss budget of Controller. Consult Application Note AN118, Determining System Loss Budget, for more information.

For example:

  • A single SM or MM FO E-Stop directly connected to one remote MR380 DIN controller (23dB) can operate up to 17 km.
  • Two SM FO E-Stops connected in series to remote MR380 DIN Controller can operate up to 6.5 km
  • Two DIN Controllers can be used to extend the reach of one Electromechanical E-Stop to 30 km
  • Many configurations are possible, only limited by the overall Optical Loss Budget of the application.
